George “Geo” Harold Davis was born in Meridian, Mississippi, on September 19, 1918. He was born to Bertha Adela Allen (November 17, 1890 - March 11, 1980) and Artie George “Flats” Davis (October 16, 1885 - December 8, 1956). They established a permanent residence at 424 40th Ave, Meridian, Lauderdale, Mississippi.
His mother, Bertha Adela Allen, was born on November 17, 1890, to her mother, Elizabeth Allen (1860 - ???), and an unknown father in Alabama. She had 4 children with Artie between the years of 1913 and 1922 and was married sometime before then. Her mother, Elizabeth Allen, lived with Bertha, her husband, and 4 children in Meridian. She died in the year 1980.
His father, Artie George “Flats” Davis, was born in 1885 to Sarah C (Sallie) Farmer (1853 - 1926), and Isaac Raymond Davis (August 24, 1844 - May 16, 1905) in Alabama. He had 2 half brothers, Rodney R. Davis (February 1876 - ??) and Raymond Davis (May 1880 - ??). His family moved to New Orleans shortly after he was born. Based on the 1900 Census, they set up a residence at New Orleans Ward 15, Orleans, Louisiana. He moved to Meridian sometime after the death of his father. By the time of the 1940 Census, Flats worked as a car Inspector for Mobile & Ohio Railroad. He had 4 children with Bertha between the years of 1913 and 1922 and was married sometime before then. He died in 1956.
George and his family lived in Meridian, Lauderdale, Mississippi from before his birth to after his death at 424 40th Ave. George had 3 siblings: his youngest sister Earline Ethyl (1922-1982), and his older sisters Naomi Davis (Vignas) (Blanks) (1913-2012) and Velma Artie Davis (Parker) (1915-2009).
After graduating from a 2-year college, George got a job as a general clerk. He became an Aviation Cadet to prepare for the military. George registered on October 16, 1940, at Meridian, Lauderdale, Mississippi, and he had left his job before this.

His oldest sister, Naomi Davis (Vignas) (Blanks) was born in 1913. She married Ernest Horace Vignes (November 12, 1906 - 1959) sometime in 1936. According to the 1928 U.S. City Directory, Ernest found work in Meridian as a bookkeeper for Royal Feed and Milling Company. They had a son on December 31, 1936, and named him Bert Lacour. They had their daughter, Lynn Vignes (Knight), on April 10, 1941. Her husband Ernest worked as a Traffic Manager for Nutrena Mills in 1958, a year before his death. Ernest passed away in 1959 and Naomi followed in 1982. They were both buried in Meridian.
His middle sister, Velma Artie Davis (Parker) was born in 1915. Velma worked for Planters Supply and helped to distribute farming utensils, plants, feeds, fertilizers, and materials. She married William Thornton Parker (September 1, 1912 - February 12, 1993) on October 26, 1937, in Quitman, Mississippi. William worked for Teche Grey House Lines before he was drafted for WW2. Her husband William registered for World War 2 on October 16, 1940, the same day as George, at Meridian, Lauderdale, Mississippi, and served during the war. She and her husband lived in Meridian. They had 4 children together, she is survived by 3 of them. One of their kids, William Gerald Parker passed as an infant. Her spouse, William, died on February 12, 1993. She died on September 19, 2009, at the age of 93.
His younger sister, Earline Ethyl Davis (Webb), was born in 1922. She was married sometime after the 1940 Census as she was listed as single on it. According to the 1950 Meridian City Directory, Earline worked as the lead technician at St. Joseph Hospital. She passed away in April 1982 and was buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Meridian, Lauderdale County, Mississippi.
